About Us

All members of Dyslexia Specialists Ireland (DSI) are practising and experienced teachers, accredited by The Teaching Council of Ireland. We are all graduates of the first programme offering dual accreditation in the area of dyslexia in the Republic of Ireland – a level nine M. Ed. in SpLD/Dyslexia certified by DCU and Associated Membership of the British Dyslexia Association  (AMBDA). Members of DSI also hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).

These professional awards accredited by British Dyslexia Association – AMBDA/APC are international qualifications which recognise the holder’s ability to undertake the assessment of dyslexia. These qualifications together with the M. Ed. in SpLD/Dyslexia, a specialist teaching qualification, reflects the competences, knowledge and professional skills identified by the International Dyslexia Association, and the International Literacy Association.

Members of DSI can provide an excellent service both in the evaluation of literacy strengths and difficulties and in the creation of tailor-made tuition programmes.

DSI members work with primary and secondary level students.
